We are NOT in the same boat.
WOW, well what can I say. A good few months have passed and what a few months they have been.
Who would have thought at the start of 2020 that things would have panned out this way?
The covid-19 situation has affected all of us in one way or another. I had read a post on Facebook a few weeks back that really rang true. The post itself was a picture of a broken ship on a stormy sea and the status stated “We are not in the same boat”. Now, you will as well as I have heard the “We are all in the same boat” phrase being banded around a LOT recently, my own mother says it frequently and I do get what she’s trying say. We have all been adversely affected at some point…. however as the poignant picture of the broken boat made clear, we all have different boats. Some of us have vessels that can weather the storm no matter how hard it rages, some of us have boats that will capsize at the very first gust of wind. Some of us have a trusty crew to help along the way, some of us travel alone. So with that in mind its’ really not fair to say we are all in the same boat. We may all be in the same storm, but the boat, the boat isn’t the same.
